Our annual Fall Festival at Bay County Council on Aging is just two months away -- on the first Saturday in November. Already, Board members and staff are planning activities for this event.
Booths and Activities
As always, booths will feature local arts and crafts. In addition to booths sponsored by Council on Aging meals sites, space is available for rental by local vendors for information, contact Jean at 769-3468, ext. 131.
Special areas will feature Trash & Treasures, a Book Nook, The General Store (for unique handcrafted items), and Garden Shop. The Silent Auction will offer opportunities to bid on collectibles, art, jewelry, services and vacations. Local entertainers will be featured during the day in the outdoor stage area. Admission to the festival is free.
The Festival Always features a Pancake Breakfast beginning at 7:30 A.M. The Lions Club will grill hot dogs and serve cold drinks. Also a hot lunch (BBQ or Baked Chicken and the fixins) will be served. Breakfast and lunch tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. If five or more lunches are purchased in advance, free delivery is available.
Once again, we will have our yearly car raffle. Tickets may be purchased in advance, or the day of the Festival.
Donations Requested
Donations are always welcome. Books, CD's, craft and decorative items, plants and garden accessories, collectibles, services and luxury items (for the silent auction) - almost anything that can be sold will be accepted. Large and small yard sale items will be featured in the popular Trash & Treasures area. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and sponsors may choose to have an information booth.
The Fall Festival is Bay County Council on Aging's only fund raising activity. All proceeds are used to fund programs to help seniors remain healthy and independent, such as home delivered meals, congregate meals, in-home care and respite care.
For information about activities or pre-sales of breakfast, lunch or raffle tickets call the Council on Aging at 769-3468.
