February Spotlight on...
Betty Chaney was born in May in a
town called Auburn, Alabama. She has been married to her husband, Dave, for 43
years and they have 3 children, 2
sons and a daughter. Betty's husband worked as an FBI Agent for over 30
years and is now
employed by Digitex. She worked in various furniture and fabric stores throughout the years and
did some interior design as well. When she decided to retire, she was working as a
receptionist.
Betty occupies her time with her Shih Tzu dogs and enters them in various AKC events throughout the Southeast and Midwest states. She has several AKC Champions who make her proud of the work she does with her pets. She has brought her "babies" to the center to show them off and they are very cute little ones. Go ahead, ask her about them - she will love to tell you all about them.
When Betty and her husband moved from Atlanta to Panama City, he told her they would live here for a year and if she did not like it, they would return to Atlanta. She started coming to the LHSC and made many new friends, enjoys seeing them and getting involved in the activities. Friendships and the senior center are 2 of the reasons that she and Dave have decided to make Panama City their permanent home.
