Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

  

The Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP) places adults, 55 and older, into meaningful volunteer positions, in order to meet the needs of Bay County, Florida.

 

RSVP utilizes people who are dedicated, who want to serve others, who are willing to donate their time and talents to "make a difference" and "lead with their experience" in our community; who want to share their experiences and energy, and who want to "give back"!

 

 

Some of the opportunitites include, but are not limited to, Meals on Wheels, Transportation for the homebound senior adults to medical and other life sustaining appointments (including grocery shopping), tax assistance, fun-facilitators (docents) at the Junior Museum of Bay County, mentors and tutors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Youth in Action, and Bay district Schools, art instruction at Pyramid School of the Fine Arts, special events and ushering at the Marina Civic Center and other events throughout our community, simple home repairs and safety and security checks for our homebound senior adults.

 

RSVP is under the local sponsorship of the Bay County Council on Aging and is governed by members of the RSVP Advisory Council.

 

RSVP is a member of Senior Corps under the auspices of the Corporation for National and Community Service. RSVP volunteers serve in all 50 stats, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

 

The Director and staff are available to assist volunteers and serve as the liason between volunteers and volunteer work sites throughout the county. Orientation and training are provided to all RSVP volunteers.

 

There is only one requirement to join RSVP - you must be atleast 55 years of age.
