The Gatekeeper Program is a senior watch program established in conjunction with the Bay County Sheriff's Office.  Gatekeepers are people in the community who come in contact witht the elderly on a frequent basis and are trained to recognize if a individual needs help.  When they see a need, they contact Bay County Council on Aging and make a referral for an assessment of needed services.

The Gatekeeper Program provides identification bracelets for patients who suffer from Alzheimer's disease and related forms of dementia, large home address signs for easy visibility for emergency personnel, and File of Life information for senior adults.
