Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program is an energy conservation program that is designed to reduce energy consumption and utility costs for low-income individuals living in Bay County. Qualifying individuals must be in their own home and not paying rent for the home. Weatherization includes an in-depth energy audit and appropriate repairs to make the home more energy efficient. Since 1986, more than 1,400 homes have been weatherized. An estimated savings for each of these weatherization clients is an average of $358 annually. Homes that have been previously weatherized are not eligible to receive additional services. Priority is given to senior adults, disabled individuals, families with children age 12 and under in the household, and high energy users.
